August 17, 2016 – We are sad to report the passing of our dinghy, Evening Star Mini. Whilst she served us well, she passed while being cleaned for our journey to Chicago. Her little heart (er, tube) burst from joy during our trip. We had been discussing leaving her behind as we think her (somewhat substantial) weight was pushing the rear of the boat down and creating planing and fuel use problems. Alas, the question was resolved on her passing……..
Ever generous, she donated her organs (or really, the fuel tank and outboard motor) to future generations of dinghies.
Rest in Peace, oh little Evening Star Mini – In her eulogy, Brian Broad said it best – “twas a good little dinghy”………
